Dot IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific top-level domain name extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for constructing creative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to give it with associates and fellows. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the information sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is in use around the world.

Since dot IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administers this top-level domain name extension, such a domain can be purchased through a 3rd-party company, such as ours. You can register a .IT domain for a one-year period at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. The sole stipulation is that the person buying such a domain ought to be located in a country from the EU.

Since there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical areas of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
